CUSTOM TRAVEL PLANNING · A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING

Your trip.
Your questions.

The fee. The people. The plan. Here is what hiring a custom travel planner actually means at Jess.Travel.

The service

What is a custom travel planner?

A custom travel planner turns your preferences, budget, dates, and travel companions into a coordinated itinerary. Jess.Travel handles research and the details of stays, activities, dining, and getting around. You buy planning expertise and a trip designed around you, rather than choosing a fixed itinerary from a brochure.

Who is Jess.Travel best for?

Busy travelers who have the budget for a trip and want an expert to take ownership of the planning. Think couples, families, solo travelers, and friend groups who value their time and want personal attention. You do not need to enjoy researching travel. That is rather the point.

Will Jess personally plan my trip?

Another Jess.Travel planner may lead the day-to-day planning. Jess runs the account, so there is a real person behind the brand and a planner taking the lead on your details. We explain who you will work with when we discuss your trip.

Is Jess a real person or just a character?

Both the woman and the alter ego are part of Jess.Travel. Jess is the real founder who runs client accounts. The illustrated travel superhero is her mascot. Your itinerary is handled by people, not by a cartoon with suspiciously good boots.

Price & value

How much does custom travel planning cost?

Jess.Travel charges $99 per custom travel day planned, with a five-day minimum. Seven fully planned days would have a $693 planning fee. This pays for planning; accommodation, transport, meals, tickets, and other travel purchases are separate. Your scope and fee are confirmed before work begins.

Why pay a planner when some travel agents are free?

Different businesses have different compensation models. Some agents are paid by suppliers and charge no separate planning fee. At Jess.Travel, the planning fee covers our work, so we can build your itinerary around fit even when a recommendation earns no commission. You are paying someone to take the homework seriously.

Does Jess.Travel earn commissions?

Sometimes. Supplier commissions may be earned at no added cost to you. The planning fee covers our compensation for planning, and we do not require a recommendation to earn a commission. Commission availability is not what decides what belongs in your trip.

Is the $99 fee the cost of my vacation?

No. It is the fee for each custom day we plan. Your actual travel budget is separate. We discuss both so you can distinguish the cost of the planning service from the hotels, experiences, transport, and other things you choose.

Is a travel planner worth it?

It can be a good fit when you value expert judgment, a coordinated plan, and less research on your own time. If finding every hotel and mapping every connection is your favorite hobby, you may enjoy doing it yourself. Our service is for the person who is ready to hand that job over.

Planning & bookings

What does the planning service include?

Destination research, lodging recommendations and booking, dining and excursion arrangements, transportation planning, and a coordinated itinerary in app and PDF form. We tailor the scope to your trip and review it before you travel. Travel purchases and optional extra services are separate from the planning fee.

Do you book flights?

We provide flight consultation; travelers normally book their own flights. Discuss any exception with us before assuming flight ticketing is included. Bring your flight details into the planning conversation so the ground itinerary can fit your actual arrival and departure.

Can I help shape the itinerary?

Yes. Your preferences lead the process. You review the proposal and discuss refinements with your planner. We confirm the scope and schedule with you; we do not promise an unspecified number of unlimited revisions.

Can you work around things I already booked?

Yes. Share existing reservations during your inquiry so we can discuss how they fit into the remaining trip. Tell us which dates and purchases are fixed before we start researching.

Can you help if I have no idea where to go?

Yes. Start with your budget, dates, and the feeling you want from your time away. If you need a more developed comparison before detailed planning, ask about the optional $198 proposal of three broad itinerary directions and a discussion call.

Do you only plan luxury trips or resorts?

No. Custom is about the fit, not a required hotel category. The brief can include a memorable stay, a little local place, a road trip, a city escape, or a mixture. Share your real budget and priorities so we can assess the fit. The service is paid planning, not a hunt for a free package quote.

Can you plan for children, dietary needs, or accessibility?

Tell us about everyone traveling and their practical needs at the start. We can research and plan around those requirements. Specific access features, arrangements, and availability still need confirmation with the relevant providers.

Will every minute be scheduled?

No. We build the trip around your preferred pace. Unstructured time belongs in a thoughtful itinerary too. Tell us which days you want planned and where you want breathing room; your final scope determines the fee.

Before & during travel

How do I receive the itinerary?

Your itinerary is available in an app and as a PDF. A final Travel School conversation walks through the plan. Download or print a copy before departure so essential information is available without relying on a connection.

How far ahead should I contact you?

Contact us once you are ready to discuss your trip seriously. There is no single lead time that fits every destination or request. Tell us your departure date and any fixed bookings, and we will discuss feasibility and an itinerary delivery timeline.

Is round-the-clock concierge support included?

Do not assume it is included in the day-planning fee. In-trip concierge support is an optional service subject to availability. Ask us to confirm the hours, price, and exact coverage for your trip before you book it.

What happens if travel plans change?

Contact your planner about changes that affect the itinerary. Supplier cancellations, refunds, and disruptions depend on the relevant booking terms; we do not control airlines, hotels, or the weather. Discuss support arrangements before departure. It is all part of the adventure, but clear expectations help.

Getting started

How do I hire Jess.Travel?

Complete the trip inquiry at Jess.Travel/getstarted and schedule time with Jess through the existing inquiry flow. We discuss your needs, scope, and fee before starting the work. The first step is a conversation about your trip.

Can ChatGPT plan my trip instead?

An AI assistant can be useful for brainstorming. The question is how much of the remaining research, decision-making, booking, and coordination you want to own. Jess.Travel sells a human planning relationship and execution of the agreed scope. Send us your ideas, including anything you have already worked on with AI.

Is hiring a planner the same as joining your host agency?

No. Travelers pay Jess.Travel to plan their own vacations. The host agency supports independent people who want to run travel businesses. Those are separate services with different fees and next steps.
